Getting to The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur

60km from the international airport, The Sheraton can kindly organize a chauffeur for both your pick up and your departure. Although a little more expensive than public transport, this is a decision worth taking into account after a long haul flight from the other side of the world.

Alternatively, KLIA2 is also conveniently serviced by major transport operators including shuttle and bus companies, train, taxis, and car rental firms. There is also the KLIA Express Train, connecting KLIA, KLIA2 and downtown Kuala Lumpur with a high-speed frequent service. The KLIA Express takes just 33 minutes from KLIA2 to KL Sentral, bringing you into the city and close to the hotel.

The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur offers 385 guestrooms and suites with luxurious beds overlooking the panoramic views of the city’s skyline. With the inclusion of a daily valet service, newspaper delivery and laundry service. You can kick back and enjoy the in room dining, WiFi, and 40” LCD TV with cable and satellite TV.

The theme of the hotel continues throughout the rooms, combining a classic Sheraton profile with authentic Asian architecture. There is a range of rooms depending on your budget and your needs. From the guest rooms through to the Deluxe Suite, Ambassador Suite and the Imperial Suite. The Imperial Suite, which boasts a luxurious, sophisticated living area includes features such as a sauna and whirlpool.

Ambassador suite

I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of staying in the Ambassador suite, a 168sq meter room full of lavish comforts and amenities. This room boasts features such as an entertainment system, dining room, separate office, spa and lounge all within your suite. The open plan living of this room just adds to its appeal. Looking out each window you also get unique panoramic views of the city in every direction.

The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud and the bedroom even had a full-scale walk in wardrobe. In addition, a full kitchen makes this suite ideal should you feel like settling in for a while.

If its within your budget I would highly recommend this suite. It was by far the most luxurious and comforting suite I have had the pleasure of staying in. You can also check out my Comprehensive Video Review on YouTube.

Fitness Center

If you like to stay in shape on your vacations or business excursions, The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur has a 24-hour fitness center. The fitness center includes everything you would expect from a fully equipped gym. Free weights, treadmills and every machine you could think of.

Pool

It can get hot in Kuala Lumpur, especially if you are from a country that doesn’t experience high temperatures. It is common for the temperature to be sitting around 30 degrees. So what better way to cool off but at the pool or the cold Jacuzzi.

Relax on the recliners that line the pool, order yourself a drink, some food or even a massage and relax in the pool side environment.

Mandara Spa

A visit to Mandara Spa is sure to enhance your stay and well being. You will leave more relaxed than ever before. The spa offers multiple treatments incorporating the wisdom of ancient cultures and techniques. These incorporated with the latest spa science help to give you a full body and mind makeover.

I got the 50-minute Balinese massage and left in absolute bliss. You get your own spa room with both indoor and outdoor showers or a bath. Here you can wash your stresses away and get prepared for the treatment ahead.

There is not much more needed to do but lie on the bed and be prepared to relax.

The Sheraton Club Lounge

The Sheraton Club Lounge is located on the top floor with an impeccable view. It is available to all club members, including people who are staying in inclusive suites. Some of the benefits include a personalized check in/check out and concierge services.

In the club room itself, you will have access to complimentary refreshments and meals throughout the day, including cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening. This is a more private area to indulge if you want to have a little change of pace.

Food

The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur offers an array of hospitality options throughout the entire day to satisfy your needs. Simply put, you do not need to leave the hotel to eat. The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur has multiple award winning restaurants, each with their own world class international cuisines. Here is a small taste of what you can expect.

Essence – International Buffet

Buffet style eating offering a vast range of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Essence is set against a stunning backdrop of bright electric colors and serves food throughout the day.

No matter where you are from in the world or your preferred cuisine, Essence has you covered.

In addition to the more common western breakfast, expect local Malay, right through to Japanese and everything in between. There is also a fruit smoothie area and dessert section. I can guarantee you will find something here to satisfy your hunger, with an experience to match.

Villa Danieli – Italian Restaurant

I had dinner here on my first night and was completely blown away by the atmosphere, experience and of course, the food.

As soon as you walk through the doors it feels as though you have stepped into Italy. Big stone arch ways, lined with historic European art it’s hard not to fall in love instantly.

Villa Danieli is an inviting, award winning, Tuscan style Italian country home which offers authentic dishes and a global selection of wine.  I would highly recommend getting the lamb for main and the tiramisu for dessert, my two stand out dishes.

Celestial Court – Chinese Restaurant

Celestial Court is a grand restaurant that pays homage to traditional, elegant Chinese and royal dynasties, serving true Cantonese cuisine.

When you walk in you feel as though you about to sit down and have a meeting with Chinese royalty.

The menu is so big that, for a westerner like me, it is somewhat overwhelming. Luckily, they do have set menus you can choose from which includes 4-5 courses. To be honest, I had no idea what I was eating half the time and had to ask my host for confirmation. This did not taint my experience, it was an awesome cultural awakening of Chinese dining. I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. If you are after something different, set your sights here.

Pavilion Lounge – Refreshments and Snacks

This intimate and charming lounge is an inviting afternoon retreat. Until 4.30pm you can indulge in light snacks, spread out across the center of the room including chocolate fondue accompanied with a refreshing drink.

Furthermore, if your wanting something more extravagant a traditional High Tea can also be arranged.

Throughout the evening a full selection of international beers, champagnes, fine wines, and spirits are served for any occasion. The icing on the cake so to speak is the soothing live music being played on the piano in the background.

Toastina Café & Bar

Unwind at the modern Toastina Café & Bar, this space is the epitome of trendy and cosmopolitan, perfect for social gatherings. But also, a simple place to sit down with friends or family and enjoy a casual drink accompanied with an array of pastries and snacks. The perfect place to grab a bowl of nachos and a beer. Traditional bar style environment with a modern day twist.

Service

The service of everyone at this hotel is incredible. Welcoming, with a giant smile and greeting, willing to help you in any way they possibly can. Right from the front desk, all the way to the top floor there is not one person that gave an ounce of negativity. Even though my stay was only a few days, I felt like I built mini friendships with certain staff, which is rare.

No matter how good the accommodation, is it is only as good as the staff and the staff here made the stay that much better. I was lucky enough to have my a personal host-Farah. If you are ever staying here ask for her and say hi, tell her I sent you and she will look after you.

If you are heading to Kuala Lumpur in the near future and are looking somewhere to stay that offers a perfect location, unbeatable environment and facilities, I would highly recommend The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur. My experience here was better than I could have expected and will come back when I am visiting Kuala Lumpur next time.
